Focus:

Contributes to design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, evaluating, modifying, deploying, and documenting software and systems that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and/or internal end user applications.

Organizational Context:

This role of an Engineer will be an integral part of a team that designs and builds large-scale, cloud-native applications and drive us closer to the vision of a robust platform. As a Software Engineer, you wil function as a member of an agile team and helps drive consistent development and test practices with respect to tools, common components, and documentation.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Serving as a core member of an agile team that drives user story analysis and elaboration, designs and develops responsive web applications using Javascript with strong emphasis on React

  • Building functional reusable cross platform components and front-end libraries

  • Performing hands-on software development, writing code and unit tests, doing proof of concepts, conducting code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints

  • Performing ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast track concepts, and delivering continuous improvement

  • Developing deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within the supported domains

  • Bring a culture of innovation, ideas, and continuous improvement

  • Challenging status quo, demonstrate risk taking, and implement creative ideas

  • Manage your own time, and work well both independently and as part of a team.

  • Good attitude, willingness to learn and collaborate

  • Work closely with product managers, back-end and other front-end engineers to implement versatile solutions to tricky web development problems

  • Finalizing HTML prototypes into Web Applications by integrating with back-end services and functionality

  • Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code

  • Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers

  • Demonstrate a passion for continuous learning and willingness to adopt new technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline with 4+ years of work experience

  • 3+ years experience working with JavaScript and building modular front-end applications using nodeJS

  • Able to demonstrate good web fundamentals & knowledge of DOM

  • 3+ years experience writing adaptive and responsive UI applications

  • In-dept knowledge of HTML5, CSS, React, Redux

  • 3+ years hands on experience working on React with recent experience in ES6

  • 3+ years hands on experience working on Redux or other similar state management

  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, yarn, etc

  • Knowledge of Server-Side Rendering in JavaScript is a plus

  • Experience building UI that can integrate with backend APIs. Solid understanding of JSON Schemas and RESTful APIs is a plus

  • 3+ years experience writing unit tests using React Testing library or similar, snapshot and browser compatibility tests

  • Experience in a11y and i18N is a plus

  • Hands on experience using Jenkins, Git, Stash. Previous Continuous Integration and continuous delivery (CICD) experience is a plus.

  • Good communication skills - able to explain technical concepts to designers, product managers and business partners in ways that are meaningful to them
